Actor Sam Elliott lent his voice to a Joe Biden campaign video that aired during the World Series Tuesday and became a Twitter magnet. See the ad, above, and responses to it.
The Elliott video premiered Tuesday during the first game of the Major League Baseball World Series. Over a piano soundtrack of the “Star Spangled Banner,” the actor known for "A Star is Born," "The Big Lebowski" and "Road House" tells viewers that there is no one America.
“No Democratic rivers, no Republican mountains, just this great land and all that’s possible on it with a fresh start,” the actor says. “Cures we can find, futures we can shape, work to reward, dignity to protect.”
Critics and fans of Elliott reacted immediately. Here's a sampling at this hour. Note: Expect to see some profanity.
The Democrats are comprised of Hollywood puppets such as Sam Elliott. The people don't care what you think about Joe Biden. He is a criminal.— Jake Highwell (@JakeHighwell) October 21, 2020
Ummm...Sam Elliott narrating a Biden ad got me right in the feels.— Leanne Talley (@talley_leanne) October 21, 2020
Ugh. Sam Elliott has probably always been on the dark side but I always just held out hope that he wasn’t. Bummer.— Anthony Jr. (@AJAJ19_) October 21, 2020
God damn it Sam Elliott, now you're dead to me— Matty Ice Aka the goalie whisper (@matthewbeck19) October 21, 2020
If Biden's breakin' out Sam Elliott with two weeks to go, you best BELIEVE there's a Morgan Freeman round in the chamber.— John P. Glynn (@JohnPGlynn) October 21, 2020
Sam Elliott voicing a political ad doesn’t change that the candidate’s crack-addled son left his laptop and signed receipt that was turned over to the FBI and confirms year$ of Joe Biden peddling influence as VP. Actually I would like to hear Sam Elliott narrate that.— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) October 21, 2020
Sam Elliott. And just like that, Biden sealed the deal with every suburban woman of a certain age.— Like a Lemur (@likealemur) October 21, 2020
