Walking is a simple way to start losing weight, but to see results, you'll need to get your steps in every day and stick with a healthy diet.

That's according to Steven McDaniels, a Florida personal trainer, who recommends walking an hour a day. For beginners, that would be walking 2 to 2.5 miles an hour (a slow, conversational pace) to burn about 200 calories.
