AUBURN, N.Y. (AP) -- Justin Toerner doubled and singled twice, scoring two runs as the State College Spikes beat the Auburn Doubledays 9-3 on Sunday. With the victory, the Spikes swept the short two-game series.

Stanley Espinal homered and singled with three RBIs for State College.

Up 1-0 in the third, State College added to its lead when it crossed the plate for four runs, including a two-run double by Nick Dunn.

State College starter Eli Kraus (1-1) picked up the win after allowing just one hit over five scoreless innings. Opposing starter Reid Schaller (1-1) took the loss in the New York-Penn League game after giving up five runs and five hits over 2 2/3 innings.
