MIDLAND, Texas (AP) -- Jamie Ritchie hit a run-scoring single in the eighth inning, leading the Corpus Christi Hooks to a 4-3 win over the Midland RockHounds on Wednesday.

Randy Cesar scored on the play after he reached base on a walk and advanced to second on a walk by Stephen Wrenn.

Corpus Christi went up 3-0 on an RBI single by Ryne Birk in the sixth inning. Midland answered in the bottom of the inning when Eli White hit a sacrifice fly and Tyler Marincov hit a two-run single.

Erasmo Pinales (1-2) got the win with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Jarret Martin (1-2) took the loss in the Texas League game.
